Vivo, which belongs to the same BBK Electronics group as OnePlus, has announced that it is developing a 120-watt Super FlashCharge for its phones. The announcement was made in the Chinese social media service Weibo. That would be the current record, as the highest charging power to date has been provided by Xiaomi's 100-watt Super Charge Turbo.
Vivon’s fast charging is promised to charge a reasonably large 4,000 mAh battery in just 13 minutes. The battery would be fully charged in five minutes. It is not yet known where the smart phone will be the first to offer effective fast charging. The 5G IMEI code used in the post indicates that the new device will also be equipped with fast network connections.
The most powerful of the smartphones announced is the Huawei Mate X with its 55-watt SuperCharge. Chinese manufacturers are therefore keen to develop efficient fast-charging technologies, while Samsung, which has also been rumored to offer 45-watt charging for at least some of its Galaxy Note 10 phones that are set to be released in August, is also said to be working on offering 45-watt charging.
