Testissä Xplora 4: Lasten rannepuhelin ilman nettiä ja pelejä

Moni vanhempi on huolissaan jälkikasvunsa puhelimen käytöstä. Ruudun loiste tuntuu houkuttavan enemmän kuin pihaleikit, eikä puhelinta malteta välttämättä laskea sivuun nukkumaan mennessäkään. Olisiko yksinkertaisempi rannepuhelin ratkaisu?

Norjassa suosittu Xplora-rannekellopuhelin saapui kesällä Suomeen. Yrityksen ideana on tuoda 4–10-vuotiaille lapsille vaihtoehto, joka suojaa heitä verkon ja älypuhelimen käytön vaaroilta. Vanhemmilla on myös mahdollisuus hallita ja tarkkailla lapsen puhelimen käyttöä. Lokakuussa kellosta julkistettiin uusi Xplora 4 -versio, jossa on Android-käyttöjärjestelmä ja järeämpi suoritin. Kameralla voi ottaa myös videoita, tallennustilaa on enemmän ja vedenkestävyys on parempi. Testasimme, miten uutuusmalli toimii.

Ajaa asiansa

Xplora 4 jättää pääosin positiivisen vaikutelman. Sen käyttö on alkuasetusten jälkeen yksinkertaista, ja valvontaominaisuuksien ansiosta lapsen menemisistä pysyy kärryillä. Laite on kevyt, eikä sitä tee mieli räplätä samaan tapaan kuin älypuhelinta. Pari miinuspuolta heikentää kokonaisuutta. Paikannustoiminto ja turvarajat ovat hyvä lisäominaisuus, mutta niihin ei kannata sokeasti luottaa. Oma laturi ei myöskään olisi pahitteeksi.
