At the end of the article you will also find useful information:
The larger the image, the more cinematic and immersive (presenting) the atmosphere. The size of the image is even more significant in terms of the sense of presence than the subjective quality of the image. For this reason, many end up using a video projector as well, even though its image quality is not up to par with television and requires a darkened room.
More and more consumers want an ever bigger television. And sizes have grown over the years. In the past, a 32-inch TV was considered a real giant (that is, 30 years ago).
As CRT televisions took over, the image tube technology also began to grow: 42-, 48-, 55-inch… And as prices dropped, they got bigger and bigger.
Now 65 inches is starting to be what a television “normal size” is, which is really quite big already.
Affordable televisions often have a good price-quality ratio, because they offer sufficient features for most basic needs, and the picture quality has long been good in even inexpensive TVs, and is constantly improving.
Mass production and competition lower prices. Affordable models utilize technology that is standard on more expensive televisions. Brands compete among themselves for market share. Resellers compete equally on prices. This competition benefits consumers with the most affordable prices, the most versatile features, and better quality.
And here we are talking about “normal prices”. The most affordable models in some of the tests have already been offered for as little as 500 euros. Of course, there is also a lot of “noise” in the market. Models come and go. Prices vary; sometimes they are sold in a special offer, or in a slightly different model. In different distribution channels, slightly different models may be sold at different prices. It’s hard to keep up with all the brands we wanted to include in this test. That’s why we didn’t end up including all the brands we wanted in this test.
