The logo will be seen on televisions starting in 2020 and will help consumers identify devices that meet the specifications.<\/p>\n<p>The organization has been listening to the major device manufacturers as it develops the specifications. However, compliance with the specifications is not mandatory for manufacturers. The resolution must be at least 7,680 x 4,320 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio and there must be at least 33 million active pixels. The bit depth must be at least 10 bits.<\/p>\n<p>The television must be able to convert SD, HD, and 4K content to 8K resolution. In addition, one or more HDMI inputs must support a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels, a 10-bit depth, 24, 30, and 60 frame-per-second (fps) motion compensation, HDR, and ITU-R BT.2100 specifications, as well as HDCP 2.2 copy protection.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cta.tech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.cta.tech<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CTA, or The Consumer Technology Association, has officially approved a specification and logo for 8K TVs.
