Chord introduced a compact Anni amplifier for desktop use
Chord Electronics has introduced a desktop-mountable amplifier. Anni is the company’s first integrated amplifier and is suitable for both headphones and speakers.
The small amplifier has taken some technology from the company's flagship Ultima model, with a few tweaks to the error correction circuitry. As a result, the manufacturer promises that the device will cope with all kinds of headphone loads with dignity. The amplifier provides 10 watts of power, and according to the manufacturer, it is suitable for many types of desktop speakers thanks to its two gain settings. The output connections include 3.5 and 6.3 mm headphone connectors and audio terminals. As for the inputs, there are two pairs of unbalanced and level RCA connectors.
The Anni amplifier belongs to the Chordin Qutest range, which has previously been announced the Qutest DAC and the Huei turntable amplifier. The device is also compatible with the Qutest Stand System. As with other devices in the Qutest range, the Anni has an aluminum enclosure with colorful control buttons. The only color option is black. The amplifier also has a 12-volt DC power supply that can power other devices in the same series.
