From curved to flat TV with the push of a button

LG's OLED Flex is a new 42-inch TV that can be converted from a curved to a flat TV with the press of a button. Curved displays are popular in the gaming world, and LG is doing something new with its LG OLED Flex. Samsung originally brought curved displays to the market, but they didn't take off. The same changing curvature technology could also come to other TVs.

The LX3 is advertised as ”the world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED TV,” and it is designated as both a television and a gaming monitor. The panel can be transformed from a straight curved shape to a curved shape, allowing users to customize their viewing experience by selecting from twenty curved levels of curvature.

To ensure ergonomic comfort, the LG OLED Flex display can be tilted up to 10 degrees towards the player or down 5 degrees away from the player. With the height-adjustable stand, the TV can be raised or lowered by 140 millimeters. Users can easily adjust the curvature using a few preset options available or change the curvature manually with the remote control button, in 5-degree increments.

Multi-View mode is intended for people who want to watch content from two different sources simultaneously and choose which audio source they want to listen to. Built-in Dolby Atmos support and two front-facing speakers aim to deliver first-class sound quality.

In terms of image quality, LG OLED Flex supports Dolby Vision gaming at 4K 120 Hz, as well as HDMI 2.1 features such as variable refresh rate and automatic low-latency mode. The TV is G-SYNC compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified, ensuring a smooth viewing experience.
