Grado has announced two new Statement X headphones – the GS3000x and GS1000x.
The GS3000x is a successor to the GS3000e. It features the same earcups made from tropical panamanpalisanter wood as its predecessor. The frame also has a metallic chamber. The element has been grown from 50 millimeters to 52 millimeters, which is the manufacturer’s largest ever. The diaphragm has also been further developed, the magnet is more powerful, and the mass of the speaker has been reduced.
The GS1000x is the fourth model in the long-running GS1000 series. Its body is made of mahogany, and a new addition is the ipe wood, which is said to improve the consistency of the sound.
Both new models feature an improved 12-conductor cable and a revamped jack. As an option, you can purchase balanced XLR cables. Both headphones are manufactured by Gradolla in Brooklyn, as usual. The price and availability of the new models in Finland are not yet known.
