Sennheiser’s new HD 620S headphones may look similar to the brand’s well-known open headphones, but they are not. Listening to feedback from the community, Sennheiser identified a demand for headphones that retain the stunning features of the 600 series while isolating external noise. Product Manager Jermo Koehnke stated: ”The hi-fi community has been longing for a headphone that combines the best features of our 600 series while isolating them from distractions at work, at home, or elsewhere.”
The HD 620S aims to achieve just this: maintaining a spacious and natural sound environment while incorporating noise-canceling features for closed headphones. What sets the new headphones apart from others is the metallic parts that surround the headphones” ”shells.” In addition to their appearance, Sennheiser says that these shells function as effective noise absorbers, reducing interference.
With an impedance of 150 ohms, the HD 620S is compatible with most integrated amplifiers. Each pair is supplied with a storage pouch and a 183 cm, detachable, threaded 3.5 mm cable. Additionally, a 4.4 mm cable is available for purchase in the summer for those who have DAC amplifiers.
In a nutshell, the HD 620S closed headphones embody Sennheiser's commitment to innovation, offering a combination of the open ear concept with the functionality of a closed earphone for demanding audiophiles seeking the best sound quality and isolation.
The headphones can be pre-ordered starting May 7 for a price of 349.90 euros, and deliveries will begin on June 6. They are aimed at audiophiles who want the best of both worlds.
