Here's how to find a lost Android device

Did the phone or other Android device stop working? The game may not be lost, as it is still possible to locate the device on a computer or another Android device.

If you have another Android device available, such as a tablet or phone, you can install Google's own Find My Device app for searching. The app is available for download. from here. The same tricks work on a computer and in an online browser by logging in. here.

First, you should try to see if the device can be located. The device you are looking for must then have location services enabled. The map will show either the device’s current location or the last location before it went off.

If the phone is missing at home, you can call it through the service. The ringtone will be loud for five minutes, even if the phone was silent when it was lost. You can mute the ringtone when you unlock the phone.

Calling is a handy trick even when the phone is missing somewhere other than at home. You can type a message you want to send to the finder on the screen and set a button that the finder can press to call the given number.

If it appears that the mobile device is in the wrong hands, you can also lock it and sign out of your Google account. You can also clear it to protect your personal data. At that point, the device returns to its factory settings and the phone’s internal memory is emptied.
